Tomorrow is Mothers day, 11th May, 2014. Many of
our mothers have gone to spread their wings in the ranks of Heaven above. Their
memories will never leave our sides because we are joined to them in a
relationship deeper than what is possibly imagined. We often wonder in life if
they knew we loved them. Did we say all we had to say when they were here on
earth? They know. We are part of their bodies.
For the mother(s) who are here with us, no matter how tough
things get, no matter how much we dislike each other yesterday, today, and in
the future, they are still our mothers without reservation. Their words emulate
our very presence by our actions. Their kisses will be permanently indented on
our cheeks. Close your eyes and smell their scent of times that have passed in
history. They will be forever in our hearts.
The Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character
12 She brings him good not harm, all the days of her life.
14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from
afar.
15 She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food
for her family and portions for her servant girls.
16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings
she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong
for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp
does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the
spindle with her fingers.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for
all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine
linen and purple.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies
the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh
at the days to come.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does
not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband
also, and he praises her:
29 "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them
all."
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman
who fears the LORD is to be praised.
(Proverbs
10: 10-30)
If your mother is in the presence of God, blow her a
kiss, look up and say: “I miss you and I love you.”
If you mother is here with us, the best gift is a
simple kiss, and “I love you, Mom.” When
you do, then your mother will feel the greatest blessing that has been bestowed
on her by God, the child. It matters not if you as a mother gave birth or not
to that child---it is a chosen gift of motherhood that God has given us.
Mothers are also our teachers, they are not only our mothers, but many days they
are the motherly influence of many other children as well. Be sure tomorrow that we love and show
appreciation to our biological, spiritual, theoretical, adoptive, and community
supportive to those who take the role as “mother.”
Keep each other in prayer. God bless you each and
everyone.
